Job Objective

Assist in planning, designing, implementing and administering all types of resources related to IT infrastructure on premises and on the cloud; monitoring its performance and capacity, providing technical support related to resources and submitting reports to the management in order to support the IT operations and meet Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority’s (ADAA) business needs in an efficient manner.

 

Key Responsibilities/Duties

A. Strategy and Planning

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and update of the section related policy, procedures manual, delegation of authority, systems user manuals, and standard forms, and ensure alignment with ADAA’s overall policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and update of the section’s strategic, budget and procurement, and operational plans, ensuring alignment with the department and sector’s strategy and objectives, and ADAA’s mission and vision.
  • Ensure to meet individual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

 

B. Operations (with sub-headings)

IT Governance and Strategy:

  • Assist in implementing IT operational standards across the authority which will include regular communication and budgeting to achieve maximum efficiencies and synergies in IT operations.
  •  Assist in the development of IT policies, procedures and operational standards for IT Infrastructure in accordance with industry’s best practices and implement across ADAA to achieve maximum efficiencies and synergies in IT applications.

 

IT Infrastructure: 

  • Assist in designing and developing technical infrastructure and ensure continuous update in accordance with the IT policies, procedures Industry’s standards, and best practices to support IT business continuity in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Assist in monitoring the performance of ADAA’s IT infrastructure by using proactive monitoring systems, response to technical malfunctions and accidents immediately and develop appropriate solutions in coordination with the concerned parties inside and outside ADAA.
  • Assist in the implementation of IT disaster recovery plan for IT infrastructure to ensure adequate back up, availability of all information and business continuity in case of disruption or emergencies.
  • Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures related to the use of cloud-based systems services including connections to and from various cloud network types, monitoring and maintaining firewalls, requesting for new technology, maintaining a secure cloud environment and ensuring appropriate availability of services also known as uptime.
  • Assist in evaluating the business requirements and designing the best solution technically and commercially whilst keeping the business goals and objectives in mind to ensure compatibility with Authority’s cloud environment.
  • Assist in planning and deploying cloud resources, and monitoring resource performance to ensure service availability and financial reporting capabilities.
  • Provide input in the analysist and categorization of cloud resources, and assist in reviewing consumption to ensure cost effectiveness, and accurate reporting.
  • Assist in monitoring and reviewing the administrators’ vendors’ access to cloud environment and providing report to the management to ensure proper control of access provision and up-to-date information.
  • Works closely with related end users to respond to technical issues and queries; determine the source of the problem and resolve as per the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and criticality of the incident.
  •  In Collaboration with Procurement Department, conduct selection process of the vendors to meet ADAA’s operational needs and obtain both commercial and technical deals.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports which provide high level Cloud performance information to management and detailed low level data for review and enhancements.

 

Data Center: 

  • Assist in implementing Data Center / server rooms’ standards and procedures including managing HVAC, UPS and Electrical systems and generators, monitoring its performance, conducting inspections and troubleshooting technical issues to ensure ISO standards are maintained to support IT requirements.
  • Assist in the daily inspection, electrical and mechanical system upgrades, equipment installations, cabling and labelling of cables, Electrical Generators/ UPS battery systems Maintenance to support Business operations in accordance with IT policies, procedures and ISO standards to support business operations.

 

C. Talent Management and Development

  • Ensure completion of required trainings and certification programs in order to keep current with job requirements and ensure continuous performance improvements.
  • Obtain timely performance review assessments for midyear and annual performance review and ensure to meet the set KPIs.
  • Keep current with updated information relevant to the role to ensure standard performance level is achieved.
  • Contribute to knowledge dissemination/sharing to build internal capabilities of the team and maximize their effective performance.
  • Contribute to the development of UAE National employees in line with the objectives of the Authority and its Emiratization strategy.

 

D. Corporate

  •  Ensure adherence and compliance with all ADAA corporate policies, procedures and guidelines (HR, IT, Procurement, Finance, Health and Safety, etc.).
  • Prepare section’s related correspondence such as e-mails, memos, and letters to ensure professionalism, completeness and accuracy of information.
  • Retain, document, preserve, and archive section’s related physical and electronic records in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Respond any section related queries and provide required support to relevant ADAA’s organizational units and employees as and when required.
  • Utilize relevant technologies used within ADAA in order to optimize work efficiency.
  • Demonstrate compliance with ADAA’s values, Code of Business Conduct and ethics at all times to support the establishment of a value driven culture within the Authority.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction. • Contribute to the preparation and submission of timely and accurate statements and reports to meet department requirements, and quality standards.
  •  Co-operate in the implementation of the relevant health and safety legislation, policies and procedures, in the performance of duties.

 

E. General

  •  The level of performance should reflect the academic qualification, type of courses in the field of specialization, employee job level, and the level of productivity.
  • The academic and professional certificates required and approved by ADAA should be acquired within the period specified and based on the employee’s Individual Development Plan.
  • Perform the task and responsibilities independently unless an approval or directive was obtained to delegate the task to other employees in case of incapability to perform the tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ensure teamwork, collaboration, and dedication in performing duties.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science or relevant field.
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Language: Proficiency in Arabic and English.
